IU Indianapolis 2030

In October 2022, IUPUI launched its strategic planning process that will align with IU 2030 and focus on Student Success and Opportunity, Transformative Research and Creativity, and Service to the State and Beyond. The planning process will guide the advancement of IUPUI, IUPUC, and IU Fort Wayne over the next seven years and will be tightly integrated with Vision 2024 – the realignment of Indiana University and Purdue University programs.

The plan will be led by an Executive Committee with broad engagement ensured through a subcommittee structure that takes full advantage of intact councils, committees and shared governance, and will include strong and broad participation from faculty, staff, students, alumni, community partners and other key stakeholders. Separate but aligned planning processes will be conducted at IUPUC and IU Fort Wayne.

A completed plan will be unveiled to the campus community in March 2023 with implementation to begin summer 2023.

Core Values

IUPUI core values will help inform the strategic planning process in Indianapolis:

  • Inclusive: intentionally involving stakeholders and constituencies in shaping the future.
  • Transparent: regularly communicating purpose, progress, decisions, and next steps.
  • Collaborative: promoting silo-busting, barrier-removing, and boundary-spanning actions.
  • Equity-minded: using an “equity/inclusion lens” for planning and decision-making.
  • Innovative: generating new, creative, and cutting-edge ideas in the planning process.
  • Excellence: striving to achieve the highest levels of performance and prominence.
  • Strengths-based: leveraging prior investments and sources of distinction and differentiation.
  • Future-focused: building a next generation urban research campus to meet city/state needs.
  • Urban-centric: appreciating and strengthening the unique Indianapolis context in planning.

A completed plan will be unveiled to the campus community in March 2023 with implementation to begin summer 2023.
